Notifications For The Post Of Direct Sales Executives In Life Insurance Corporation Of India (LIC)- June 2013 

JOB REQUIREMENT:
It is primarily a Marketing job. The DSEs shall be directly responsible for Procuring New Business, Providing Policy Servicing and related jobs from the areas allotted to them. They shall also carry out any other instructions given to them from time to time. For this purpose considerable movements including tours covering entire area allotted to them are involved.
 

Qualification:
Applicant shall possess the Bachelor’s Degree of a University established in India under a statute. Preference may be given to those applicants who possess a Bachelor Degree or Diploma in Marketing /Management. Good working knowledge of English and also one Regional language preferably local language is desirable. Knowledge of soft skills such as Power Point / Word / Excel would be additional advantage.
 

REMUNERATION:
Direct Sales Executives, on engagement will be paid monthly remuneration, which will be entirely performance based. The quantum is dependent on DSE’s achievement of specific business benchmarks and performance of assigned tasks to the satisfaction of Corporation.
 

SELECTION PROCEDURE
a) Selection will be made on the basis of a written test if necessary, followed by an Interview of candidates who qualify in the written test. Written Test will be of Objective Type covering sales aptitude Test of Reasoning, Numerical Ability and General Knowledge. The date and venue of the written test, if to be conducted, will be communicated to the eligible candidates through email and also posted on the website. Candidates are advised to check the site for this purpose.
b) Interview: Candidates successful in the written test (if conducted) or eligible candidates will be called for an Interview. The Corporation reserves the right to restrict the number of candidates to be called for written test and/or interview commensurate with number of Direct Sales Executives to be engaged and the decision of the Corporation in this regard shall be final. No correspondence will be entertained in this regard.
c) The selected candidates subject to their being found medically fit by the Medical Examiner authorized by LIC for the purpose will have to undergo Theoretical training and pass IRDA licensing test for obtaining a license to procure Life Insurance Business within a maximum period of three months in maximum three attempts, following which he may be engaged as an apprentice Direct Sales Executive.
d) As an apprenticeship DSE, the candidate shall have to undergo insurance related training and pass a test on the same. The apprentice DSE shall be paid a fixed one‐time stipend of Rs 3500/‐ (Rs. Three thousand five hundred only) as per rules of the Scheme.
e) On successful completion of the apprenticeship and passing the test, the candidate shall be engaged as a Direct Sales Executive purely on contract basis subject to conditions framed by the Corporation.
f)  The selected candidate will be allotted specific area of operation during the period of engagement based on Business requirements.
g) It is clarified that selection as a Direct Sales Executive does not confer any right on the candidate to be appointed as an employee in the Corporation.

Download Admit Card for Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission(UPPSC)  PRELIM. EXAMINATION 2013 (GENERAL/SPECIAL RECTT.)  Combined State/Upper Subordinate Services Preliminary Examination - A-1/E-1/2013 which will be held on 26th June 2013.



PRELIMINARY EXAMINATION
The Preliminary examination will consist of two compulsory papers of which answer sheet be on OMR
sheets. The syllabus is mentioned in Appendix-IV of this advertisement.The papers shall be 200 marks each
and of two hours durations. Both the papers shall be objective Type & multiple choice in which there shall be
150-150 questions. The timing of paper I will be from 9.30 to 11.30 A.M. and paper II from 2.30 to 4.30 P.M.
SUBJECTS FOR THE MAIN (WRITTEN) EXAMINIATION :The Written examiniation will consist of the following
compulsory and optional subjects.The syllabus whereof is mentioned in Appendix-V of this advertisment.The
candidates have to select any two subjects from the list of optional subjects for main examination. Each
optional subject will consist of two papers.

(A) COMPULSORY SUBJECTS
1. Gereral Hindi 150 marks
2. Essay 150 marks
3. General Studies (i-Paper) 200 marks
4. General Studies (ii-Paper) 200 marks

General studies paper - I & Paper - II : Shall be objective type containing 150 questions and for solving the questions two hours time is allowed. For other compulsory and optional papers three hours time is allowed.Two hundred maximum marks has been allotted for each optional question paper.
Note :1. Timing of Examination Paper of 2 hours will be 9.30 am to 11.30 am and 2.30 pm to 4.30 pm. 2 . Timing of examination paper of 3 hours is 9.30 am to 12.30 am & 2 pm to 5 pm. 3 . A candidate shall be required to obtain such minimum marks in the compulsory paper of General Hindi, as may be determined by the Government or the Commission, as the case may be. There shall be Two sections in all the question papers of all Optional subjects and each section will include Four questions. Candidates are required to answer only Five questions while they must select minimum, Two question from each section.

Independence.
Indian and world Geography - Physical, Social, Economic geography of India and the World:- In World Geography only general understanding of the subject will be expected. Questions on the Geography of India will relate to Physical, Social & Economic Geography of India.
Indian Polity and Governance - Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues, etc:-
In Indian Polity, Economic and Culture, questions will test knowledge of country’s political system including
Panchayati Raj and Community Development, broad features of Economic policy in India and Indian Culture.
Economic and Social Development - Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social
Sector initiatives, etc:- The candidates will be tested with respect to problems and relationship between Population, Enviornment and Urbanisation.
General issues on Environmental ecology, Bio-diversity and Climate Change - that do not require subject
specialization. General awareness of the subject is expected from candidates.
General Science:- Questions on General Science will cover general appereciation and understanding of Science
including matters of every day observation and experience, as may be expected of a well educated person, who
has not made a special study of any scientific discipline.
Note:- Candidate are expected to have general awareness about the above subjects with special reference to
Uttar Pradesh.

resources. 5. Current events of national and international importance. 6. Indian Agriculture, Trade and Commerce. 7. Specific knowledge of U.P. regarding education, culture Agriculture, Trade Commerce, The methods of living and Social Customs.
History of India and Indian culture will cover the broad history of the country from about the middle of the
nineteenth century and would also include questions on Gandhi, Tagore and Nehru. The part on current
events of national and international importance will include questions also on sports and games.
GENERAL STUDIES, PAPER - II
1. Indian Polity, 2. Indian Economy 3. General Science (Role of Science and technology in the development
of India including science in every day life) 4. General Mental ability. 5. Statistical Analysis, Graphs and
Diagrams.
The part relating to the Indian polity will include questions on the political system in India and Indian constitution. The Indian economy will cover broad features of economic policy in India. The part relating to role
and impact of science and technology in the development of India, questions will be asked to test the
candidates awareness in this field Emphasis will be on the applied aspects. The part relating to statistical
analysis, graphs and diagrams will include exercise to test the candidates ability to draw common sense
conclusions from information presented in statistical graphical or diagrammatical form and to point out deficiencies limitation or inconsistencies there in.
ESSAY
There will be three sections in the question paper of Essay. Candidates will have to select one topic from
each section and they are required to write essay in 700 words on each topic. In the three sections, topics
of essay will be based on following sphere :
Section A : (1) Literature and Culture. (2) Social sphere. (3) Political sphere.
Section B: (1) Science, Environment and Technology. (2) Economic Sphere (3) Agriculture, Industry and
Trade.

An opportunity for Young & Talented Professionals for developing business models for poor households in Bihar
Bihar Rural Livelihoods Promotion Society (BRLPS), an autonomous society under Govt, of Bihar has been able to reach out to more than 10 Lakh rural poor households, organizing them into nearly 100000 women Self Help Groups and 5700 village level federations. These institutions have generated Rs. 54 crore as their own funds and leveraged Rs. 280 crore from the Banks.
The Govt, of Bihar has designated BRLPS as State Rural Livelihoods Mission to scale up the JEEViKA model in the entire state of Bihar under NRLM. This program will be implemented in all the habitations/villages of Bihar in a phased manner by organizing and empowering 1,5 crore rural poor households through 10 Lakh sustainable SHGs & their federations. The program will develop innovative business models for the poor households.


Current Opening is "Young Professional" : 32 Positions- (General-!  SC-14, ST-1, EBC-14, BC-2) as per reservation policy of Government of Bihar.
Eligibility Criteria: S/he should be passed out from IIMs, IRMA, IIFM, ins, XLRI, DSE, FMS,
MDI, SPJIM, Reputed universities of US & UK, XIMB, CIMP, MANAGE, TISS, IIRM, X1SS, KSRM with a maximum of 3 years experience and not more than 30 years of age on 31/05/2013.

The incumbent will undergo a structured Young Professional programme of the Society. The first year of this programme would involve working in a block (12 months) and based on the performance, the incumbent may be moved to the district level to manage a project theme / vertical for one year. Based on the performance within the theme / vertical, the incumbent may also be moved to the state level to manage the theme / vertical.

The contract would be of 3 vears. However, based on the annual performance of the incumbent Selection Process: Group Discussion followed by Personal Interview
